Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance variety earned her acclaim across many genres from period drama to thrillers and action. Johansson was the daughter of an architect as well as producer, was born within New York City. Hunter was twins with the younger sibling. At the age of seven year old, she began casting for commercials on television. Following a short period, she began studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Later on there was a Professional Children's School was opened in Manhattan. In the Off-Broadway play Sophistry she worked with Ethan Hawke. She then made her first film appearance in North (1994) and was written by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson then appeared on screen in Just Cause, but she was first seen in Manny & Lo, a film about siblings left behind by their parents who flee. She next earned critical acclaim for her role in the film as a teen who been injured in a horrific accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) and she gained further attention in the role of a sarcastic teen exiled Rebecca in Ghost World (2001).
