Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is from a multi-cultural family. She was born within South London. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, and her mother is English. She was raised in a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age fourteen. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained the BA in acting. She was a part of various performances on stage during her school days, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe got her start in acting by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. In the years since, she's made guest appearances on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film was the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred with Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Then, she was the lead in Elisha in an episode of the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In her role, she also played Ollie in six episodes each of Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. She played Bambi as Bambi in the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was a star in 2008's comedy How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her stage credits includes Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport for the ABC show The Beautiful Life. The two-episode drama aired just 2 weeks at The CW and then it was cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was officially announced in May of 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she made a guest performance in the very first episode of season three. The actress played Tituba in the TV show Salem in 2014 until. Then, in June of 2012 the actress got married to her long-time partner, actor Iddo Goldberg. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also played a part with her on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, is a member of the large Hamilton family. The four brothers she had were also present: twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley lived in stadiums or baseball fields because her four athletic brothers all played baseball, hockey, and basketball in summer and winter. Ashley did not walk; instead, she was a dancer. In the age of two and half, she found Baby Ballet. It was then that she discovered Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley was a competitor in tap, jazz and ballet in the high divisions. All of the big dance events, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and others, have awarded her with the honor of "top individualist".
